Learn how to plan your loadout, choose starting locations, and utilize Instinct and the Mini-Map in Hitman World of Assassination. Master mission prep!

Hey there! Before we dive into the nitty-gritty of taking down targets, let's chat about how to get yourself set up for success in Hitman World of Assassination. This section is all about the pre-mission planning and some essential tools you'll be using constantly.

When you first start a mission, you'll see the Objectives screen. This is your go-to for seeing who you need to eliminate and any other tasks. It's also where you can check out the Challenges you've completed or still need to tackle, and even peek at the Leaderboards. Once you've got your strategy in mind, just hit 'Play' to jump in.

Planning Your Loadout

This is where the real fun begins, especially outside of the ICA Facility scenarios. You get to decide a ton of things before stepping into the mission:

  • Smuggled Item: You can bring in one special item. This can be a 'Hidden Stash' for smaller things like pistols, explosives, or gear, or an 'Agency Pickup' for larger weapons like assault or sniper rifles. Agency Pickups even come in a briefcase you can use yourself!
  • Concealed Weapon: You can choose to bring one pistol with you, or go in without one if you prefer.
  • Suit: Pick your starting suit! You can unlock more by completing challenges, so keep an eye on those.
  • Starting Location: Ever wanted to start somewhere specific on the map? Now you can! You can even begin in a different disguise, which can sometimes make things way easier. Just a heads-up, though: if you start in a disguise, you can't bring a briefcase.
  • Gear: You're allowed to bring two extra items. If you need more, you'll have to rely on an Agency Pickup or find them out in the world.

Difficulty Settings

This is pretty straightforward – you get to pick which of the three difficulty levels you want to play on. Choose wisely!

Instinct, Mini-Map, and the Silent Assassin Meter

These are your best friends out there. Instinct is super important for spotting useful items and people. It's basically your enhanced senses, letting you see Targets highlighted in red no matter how far away they are. For everyone else, there's a limited range. You can even use Instinct while running!

The Mini-Map, located in the lower-left corner, is your real-time map. It shows where you are and where NPCs and Targets are. Regular folks and guards show up as grey dots, while Targets are red reticles. Dropped disguises and Agency Pickups will also be marked. Targets are always visible on the Mini-Map, no matter the distance. 'Enforcers' – those tricky NPCs who can spot your disguise – appear as white dots. Both regular NPCs and Enforcers will only show up on the floor you're currently on.

You'll also see notifications on the Mini-Map. If you wander into an area you shouldn't be in without the right disguise, you'll see a 'Trespassing' warning. If something significant happens, like a body being discovered, a 'Searching' notification will pop up and stay until the guards calm down.

Quick Tip: Remember that if you need to drop your briefcase, you have to holster whatever you're holding first. Otherwise, you'll end up dropping the wrong item!
