    Start the Quest: Enter Waukeen Manor and interact with the Paladin on the ground to begin. Assist the Paladins at the manor door by helping them break it down. Paladins with Strength can roll for advantage.

    Locate the Councillor: Once inside, find the large bedroom where the Councillor is held. You can access this room via the Keg Room or by breaking down wooden doors and debris blocking pathways inside the manor. Weaker classes can use nearby fire patches to damage doors.

    Escape the Manor: After breaking through, the Paladins will advance to the final door. Break this door down to allow the Councillor to escape.

    Quest Progression: Speak with the Councillor outside the manor for an update. She will reveal that Drow and Goblins have captured the Grand Duke and direct you west towards Moonrise Towers.

    Optional Rescue: On the western side of the manor, you can rescue a trapped man, initiating the 'Rescue The Trapped Man' quest for a potential dowry reward.

    Act 2 - Moonrise Towers: Progress through Act 2 naturally. This involves learning about the Nightsong, visiting the Temple of Shar, completing quests at the Last Light Inn, and exploring Moonrise Towers. Obtain a Moonlantern to navigate the Shadowlands.

    Locate the Grand Duke (Act 2): After completing the Temple of Shar and some main storyline quests, you will encounter a cutscene where the Grand Duke is taken to Baldur's Gate. He cannot be rescued at this stage.

    Act 3 - Iron Throne: In Act 3, head to the Wyrm Crossing area and attend Gortash's ceremony. Afterwards, you can rescue the Councillor from the Wyrm jail below. The Grand Duke is found in the Iron Throne as part of the Steel Watch Foundry mission. You can sneak into his cell using broken walls or by picking locks.
Tips
  • Consider pairing the reward weapons (The Sparky Points, The Joltshooter, The Spellsparkler) with the Jolty Vest (AC 13 medium armor) found via the Zhentarim Hideout trader. The vest's Counter Shock modifier works well with Lightning Charges.
  • The Jolty Vest is particularly synergistic with Fighters, Paladins, or Barbarians using The Sparky Points. Access to the trader requires completing a stage of the 'Finding The Missing Shipment' quest.
Upon completing this stage of the quest, you can choose one of three Rare quality weapons: The Sparky Points, The Joltshooter, or The Spellsparkler. All grant the Electric Veins modifier, providing stacking Lightning Charges that deal additional Lightning Damage on hit.
