How to Complete the Riddle of the Night at the Silent Library in BG3

Locate the Silent Library: Teleport to the Gauntlet of Shar waypoint. Head north, bypassing the Soft-Step and Self-Same Trials, to the stairs at the end of the corridor. Descend the stairs and proceed past the Faith-Leap Trial room; the Silent Library is next door.

Prepare for the Encounter: Upon entering, you'll face five Dark Justiciars, three Nightweavers, and two Soulhunters. Magic is disabled by silence until The Librarian is defeated.

Defeat The Librarian: This shadowy entity in the center of the room causes the silence. Prioritize taking it down, ideally within the first turn, using ranged attacks. This will restore magic and prevent further enemy summons.

Clear Remaining Enemies: Once The Librarian is down, use melee characters to engage the Soulhunters (ranged) at the back, and magic-users to target the Nightweavers (melee).

Mitigate Beckoning Darkness: Enemies have an ability called Beckoning Darkness, which damages you when obscured. Cast 'Daylight: Sphere' to brighten the room and nullify this effect.

Acquire the Nightsinger Book: After looting, find the second bookshelf on the right wall near the entrance. Disarm the trap on the second shelf, then pick up the 'Teachings of Loss: The Nightsinger' book.

Open the Iron Portcullis: Either pick the lock of the Iron Portcullis at the back of the room or press the trapped button closest to it on the right.

Solve the Riddle of the Night: Head through the opened gate, noting the vent traps near the Riddle of Night pedestal. Interact with the pedestal and place the 'Teachings of Loss: The Nightsinger' book into the slot.

Claim Rewards: A passage will open behind the pedestal, revealing the Spear of Night, a Dark Justiciar Half-Plate, and a Gilded Chest with loot.
