How to Complete the Finish the Masterwork Weapon Quest in BG3

Travel to the Blighted Village, located west of the Emerald Grove. You may need to pass a 2 DC Wisdom check using the [Illithid] [Wisdom] dialogue option to avoid immediate combat with the Goblins.

Unlock the waypoint (a marker on your map you've manually placed as a destination) in the center of the village.

Head north towards the narrow path with a wagon, then go east and enter the building.

In the adjacent room, attack the calcified web covering a hole with a torch or Fire Bolt.

Jump down the hole into the basement.

To find the quest item, locate the chest opposite the Melting Furnace. Be aware this chest is trapped and requires disarming.

Opening this chest grants Highcliff’s Blueprints, which starts the “Finish the Masterwork Weapon” quest. The blueprints indicate you can craft a Sickle, Dagger, or Greatsword using Sussur Bark.

To find Sussur Bark, return to the room with the Melting Furnace. To its right is a Cracked Wall; attack it with a weapon until it becomes rubble and reveals an entrance.

Enter the new passage, which leads to a cave system inhabited by spiders and Ettercaps, including Phase Spiders that can teleport.

Make your way northwest towards a large hole. You will encounter fights against Phase Spiders and Ettercaps, and eventually the Phase Spider Matriarch boss along with other Phase Spiders near the hole.

You can attempt to sneak past enemies using web bridges, but this may alert them due to vibrations. Spells like Shadowheart’s Pass Without Trace can aid in stealth.

If you choose to fight, ensure your party has ranged attack capabilities. Breaking web bridges with fire can cause enemies, including the Matriarch, to fall and take significant damage (up to 35 damage).

Be prepared to deal with acid damage.

To bypass the Matriarch fight, precast Feather Fall on your party and jump into the hole beneath her.

If fighting the Matriarch, she can spit venom or phase (teleport) around. She may also hatch eggs that spawn small spiders. Karlach is effective for damage, and Shadowheart can cure poisons and buff the party.

Descend into the hole with Feather Fall active to reach the Underdark.

Navigate the Underdark, being aware of environmental hazards like confusion-inducing Timmask mushrooms, exploding Bibberbang and Torchstalk mushrooms, and Anti-magic-inducing Sussur Flowers.

The Sussur Tree, where you can obtain Sussur Bark, is located to the west.

Use the Melting Furnace in the Blighted Village basement to infuse a weapon with Sussur Bark once you have obtained it.
