How to Recruit Jaheira in BG3

Locate Jaheira at the Last Light Inn, the only safe haven in the Shadowlands. Your path to the Inn depends on your route into the Shadowlands:

• Mountain Pass Route: You will travel southeast, then south, and need to attract an escort by using the Spider Lyre (looted from Minthara in Act 1 if you killed the goblin leaders), passing a [Illithid | Wisdom 2] check, a [Paladin] check, or other class/race specific workarounds. You will be escorted by a drider named Kar’Niss and ambushed by Harpers. Siding with the Harpers is the Jaheira-friendly choice.

Underdark Route: You will appear on the northeastern edge and head southwest. You will encounter Harpers fighting shadows and need to assist them. This route places you closer to the Last Light Inn.

Upon reaching the Last Light Inn, you will meet Jaheira. Avoid selecting the Attack. option to prevent hostility.

Crucially, you must prevent Isobel from dying. If Isobel falls, the protective barrier fails, and the populace of the Last Light Inn turns into undead. This situation is not conducive to recruiting Jaheira.

To successfully recruit Jaheira, you generally must not side with the Absolutist cultists, unless it is for infiltration purposes to gain intel. Avoid actions that jeopardize the Last Light Inn.

Complete Act 2, which involves several key objectives:

• Find protection against the Shadow Curse. The easiest method is to defeat Kar’Niss and take his Moonlantern, which contains a pixie.

Infiltrate Moonrise Towers and gather intelligence from the cultists. This can reveal the source of Ketheric Thorm’s powers and provide the quest **Find Ketheric Thorm’s Relic**.

Travel to the Mausoleum (also known as the Gauntlet of Shar) north of Moonrise Towers to find Balthazar.

Save the Nightsong. Do not surrender Nightsong to Balthazar, as this conflicts with keeping Last Light safe and appeasing Shar.

During the assault on Moonrise Towers, when talking to Jaheira, ensure you have met the criteria of protecting Isobel and not irrevocably damaging the Harpers' position.
