Learn how to respec your character in baldurs gate 3 by finding Withers in the Dank Crypt. He can change your class for 100 gold.
Walkthrough
- 1From the beach after the prologue, head north to find the Ancient Door to the Dank Crypt. This requires a Thieves’ Tool and a DC 20 check to open. Thieves’ Tools can be found in a wooden barrel in the sea to the right of the door. Shadowheart’s Guidance spell can provide a +1d4 bonus to the check. Alternatively, take the long way around to enter the crypt.
- 2Navigate through the Dank Crypt until you reach a large open room with Entombed Scribes on the floor. If you used the Ancient Door, this room is behind Heavy Oak doors that require a key.
- 3The Engraved Key for the Heavy Oak doors is in a trapped sarcophagus in the center of the room. Be careful when opening it.
- 4Locate the giant statue in the north of the room. To its left is a hidden button that requires a low perception check.
- 5Before activating the button, ensure your party is healed and rested, as activating it will trigger a battle with the Entombed Scribes. You can bait enemies into the newly opened room.
- 6After the battle, a larger sarcophagus in the room contains the “Guardian of the Tombs.” Opening this sarcophagus will reveal Withers, an undead NPC who can help you.
- 7Interact with Withers. He will ask you a question, such as “What is the worth of a single mortal’s life?” Your choice does not affect the respec options.
- 8After this initial encounter, rest in your camp. Withers will appear at your camp.
- 9Speak to Withers at your camp to change your class for 100 gold. He can also revive dead party members for a price.
Tips
- The Ancient Door check can be difficult early on; consider using Shadowheart’s Guidance spell.
- Be cautious of traps when opening sarcophagi.
- Withers offers revivals in addition to respecs.
