Complete the Steel Watch Foundry mission in baldurs gate 3. Learn boss strategies, how to rescue families, and find the Iron Throne.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Head to the docks in the southwest corner of the city and find the factory with locked fences and patrolling machines. To enter, you can climb the guard shed and jump over the fence, picklock the gates, or knock them open. You will likely need to fight the patrolling machines first.
  2. 2
Once inside, you'll find aggressive humanoid guards. You can encourage the staff to fight back, and they will join your party against the guards.
  3. 3
After dealing with the guards, head into the security room, steal the security room key, and speak to the blind worker. He will explain that the workers wear slave collars that will kill them and their families if they go on strike. Agree to help him and his family.
  4. 4
Fight the guards on the shop floor and cause a strike with the staff.
  5. 5
Deal with the lower factory labs where remaining guards and the boss hide. You must go down here to progress. Be warned, most guards have activation sequences that must be disabled by spending an action in combat to approach and disable them, otherwise, bad things happen. Kill the remaining enemies as normal.

Steel Watch Foundry Titan Boss Guide

The boss is countered by high-damage casters, especially Frost and Lightning spells, as well as potent martial classes with two-handed weapons.

Once you enter the room with the brains in jars, you'll find a larger lab area with three more machine guards. Combatting them will cause the boss to rise from the ground and join the fight. Machines are susceptible to Lightning and Frost damage spells, making Sorcerers, Wizards, or Four Elements Monks effective. Alternatively, have a Fighter, Paladin, or Barbarian duel one machine solo to avoid multiple machines attacking simultaneously and to deal large cleave damage.

Once supporting robots are dealt with, focus on the boss. Be aware of its restoration tactics: when the boss drops to around 100 HP, it enters a defensive stance, performs a repulsion skill, and requires you to hit for at least 20 damage to prevent it from restoring its HP. Have your party ready for this phase. The boss also has an MLRS that fires a barrage of rockets in a cone; spread your party around the four corners of the boss to mitigate this. Burst through the defensive phase with empowered melee strikes or cold/lightning spells to defeat the boss quickly.

Steel Watch Foundry: Rescue the Families

To help the families of the workers, go to Flymm’s Cargo on the other side of the docks. Fight the four Worgs defending it. Inside the cargo storage room, find a basement trap door in the Northeast corner. Move any obstacles and click the trap door to enter a basement with a docked submarine. Convince the Dwarf to take you to The Iron Throne.

Upon arriving at the prison, Gortash will become aware of your actions. You have 6 turns to rescue the prisoners. The wife of the blind worker will try to escape on her own. Your mission is to free as many prisoners as possible while fighting the fish people inside. You can also rescue VIPs like the Grand Duke for potential allies and rewards.

When the turn timer reaches 2, you need to evacuate your party via the submarine. Use the Dash button to ensure all party members make it out in time.
