How to Become an Oathbreaker Paladin:

1. Make a major decision that contradicts the core virtues of your Paladin oath (Duty, Compassion, Truth, Justice, Honor).
2. Examples of oath-breaking decisions in Act 1 include: allowing Sazza the Goblin to be killed by Arka, freeing Sazza in the Druid Cove, allowing Liam to be tortured in the Shattered Sanctum, killing the Owlbear Cub, or killing the paralyzed Tiefling Pandima in the Druid Grove.
3. Note that some decisions may specifically break certain oaths and not others, depending on your subclass.
4. After breaking your oath, you will trigger a cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) where a full-plated knight appears, informing you that you have broken your oath.
5. The Oathbreaker Knight will appear at your camp after a long rest. Speak to them to confirm yourself as an Oathbreaker and unlock the subclass.

• Control Undead: Take control of an undead creature until a Long Rest.

• Inflict Wounds: A 3d10 melee necrotic damage spell.

How to Restore Your Paladin Oath:

If you wish to regain your Paladin oath in baldurs gate 3, you must speak to the Oathbreaker Knight in your camp. This option will cost you 2000 gold. This fee must be paid every time you break your oath. If you break your oath unintentionally and do not wish to become an Oathbreaker, you must reload to a previous save or pay the fee when you can afford it.
