Learn how to save the Tiefling refugees in Baldur's Gate 3. This guide covers starting the quest, dealing with Kagha, and confronting the Goblin leaders.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Begin by helping the NPCs outside the Emerald Grove fend off an initial goblin attack. Use healing spells to keep them alive.
  2. 2
After the fight, enter the Grove and witness a dispute between Zevlor and Aradin. Resolve it with a Persuasion or Ability Check, or by attacking one of them.
  3. 3
Speak with Zevlor, who explains the Druids are expelling the Tieflings. He asks you to persuade Kagha, the Archdruid, to change her mind. This starts the quest Save the Refugees.
  4. 4
Find Kagha in the Sacred Pool area of the Grove. You'll find her interrogating a girl who stole the Idol of Silvanus. You can choose to ignore this or attempt an Ability Check (Barbarian, Persuasion, Nature) to persuade Kagha to let the girl go.
  5. 5
After dealing with the child, discuss the Tiefling situation with Kagha. She will suggest you act as a mercenary and escort the Tieflings to Baldur's Gate.
  6. 6
Return to Zevlor in the Secluded Chamber. He will propose an alternative: attack the Goblin Camp and eliminate their three leaders to dismantle their offensive plans.
  7. 7
Before heading to the Goblin Camp, speak with Rath in the Sacred Pool area. He will inform you that the First Druid, Halsin, is missing, initiating the quests Rescue Druid Halsin and Removing the Parasite.
  8. 8
Travel west towards the Goblin Camp, passing through the Blighted Village. It is strongly recommended to pass through the Blighted Village unharmed by succeeding on an ability check during dialogue.
  9. 9
Upon reaching the Goblin Camp bridge, you can either attack directly or bluff your way in with a successful ability roll. Bluffing is recommended to conserve strength for the main fight.
  10. 10
Speak with the gate guard and succeed on the appropriate ability check to enter the camp unharmed.
  11. 11
Proceed through the main goblin keep and into a passageway leading to the Shattered Sanctum. You will be stopped by a female goblin; perform an ability roll to enter the Sanctum unscathed.
  12. 12
Inside the Shattered Sanctum, you will find the three Goblin leaders and Halsin. It is advisable to find Halsin first, as his presence can aid in combat.
Tips
  • Use healing spells on NPCs during the initial goblin attack outside the Emerald Grove to help keep them alive.
  • Consider using Persuasion or an Ability Check to resolve the dispute between Zevlor and Aradin, rather than resorting to violence.
  • When speaking with Kagha, attempt an Ability Check to show mercy towards the girl who stole the Idol of Silvanus.
  • It is highly recommended to succeed on an ability check to pass through the Blighted Village unharmed, saving your strength for the Goblin Camp.
  • Bluffing your way into the Goblin Camp via the gate guard and the entrance to the Shattered Sanctum can make the overall encounter easier.
  • Fighting the three Goblin leaders is easier with Halsin by your side.
