How to Wake Up Art Cullagh in Baldur's Gate 3

Locate the Last Light Inn northwest of the Shadowed Battlefield. NPCs known as Harpers can mark its location on your map.

Upon entering the inn, go to the northernmost room on the first floor. You will find Art Cullagh in a bed, attended by Fist J’ehlar.

Speak with Fist J’ehlar. Ask her if she has searched Art Cullagh for clues to receive a Worn Letter.

Examine Art Cullagh to confirm he is a musician. The Worn Letter and your observations indicate he was investigating the House of Healing under orders from Grand Duke Eltan.

Travel southwest from the Last Light Inn to find the House of Healing. If you have discovered the Moonrise Towers waypoint (a marker on your map you've manually placed as a destination), you can fast travel to an area south of the House of Healing. Alternatively, follow the road south from the Last Light Inn, then west towards Moonrise Towers, and northwest after crossing the main bridge before the Tollhouse.

Enter the House of Healing and speak with Sister Sinda. You will need to pass skill checks to convince her you need to see the doctor immediately.

Proceed north through the House of Healing to the Double Oak Doors in the center back. Open them and go down the stairs.

After a cutscene, you will meet Malus Thorm. You need to obtain the Battered Lute from him.

You can confront Malus Thorm through dialogue or choose to attack him and his Sisters. Be prepared for a difficult fight if you choose to attack.

To obtain the lute without a fight, you can use dialogue options. Try convincing Malus Thorm that the Sisters should perform the procedure on him instead. This will result in the Sisters killing Malus Thorm and remaining neutral towards you. You can then loot the Battered Lute.

Alternatively, suggest the Sisters hone their skills on each other. They will kill each other, leaving only Malus Thorm. You may then need to pass another roll check to convince Malus Thorm to kill himself. If you fail, you will have to defeat him alone.

Once you have the Battered Lute, return to the Last Light Inn.
