How to Find the Gauntlet of Shar

Locate the Thorm Mausoleum in the northwestern corner of the Shadowlands, across the river from Reithwin Town. You'll find the Grand Mausoleum waypoint nearby. Raphael will give you the quest 'Raphael’s Old Enemy' and update 'The Pale Elf'.

Enter the mausoleum and find a Stained Book on a desk in a room to the east. Reading it provides clues for the painting puzzle. A successful [Religion 18] check reveals cult markings.

Loot a Traveler's Chest near the Stained Book for the Vivacious Cloak (requires [Sleight of Hand 14]).

Proceed north to Isobel Thorm’s tomb, the location of the painting puzzle. Be aware of numerous traps, including vent traps, gargoyle traps, and marble plates. Some require [Perception 10] to spot and [Sleight of Hand 10] to disarm, though they only trigger if the puzzle is failed.

Interact with the three paintings: 'Moonrise Towers' (southwestern corner), 'Grief' (southeastern corner), and 'General' (north center).

Press the buttons at the base of each painting in the order indicated by the Stained Book: "From splendor, to tragedy, to infamy." This translates to: 1) Moonrise Towers, 2) Grief, 3) General.

If the order is incorrect, traps will activate: vents release 'Darkness', and marble plates trigger gargoyle heads firing 'Magic Missiles' (1d4+1 damage).

If the order is correct, doors will open beside the 'General' painting, and traps will be disabled.

Continue north through the opened doors to find a 'Traversal Gem' disc that transports you to the Gauntlet of Shar.
