Baronial Business after Troll Trouble: Questing After Troll Trouble Chapter 2

After the Troll Trouble, manage your barony in Pathfinder: Kingmaker. Learn how to annex territory, build villages, rank up kingdom stats, and research curses.

Alright, you've dealt with the trolls, and now it's time to get your barony in order! This section of the guide covers what you should be focusing on back in your throne room after the dust settles from the Troll Trouble incident. We'll mostly be waiting for a few weeks for Jaethal's quest to pop up, but that doesn't mean you can't get a head start on other important tasks.

While you're waiting, it's a great time to get some other quests lined up, like Shelyn's Chosen and Investigate My Death. You can also tackle the overdue quests Sorrowflow and [The Court Alchemist]. It's more efficient to do them all in one go later, but don't stress if you can't right now.

Here’s what you should prioritize in the throne room:

• Annex New Territory: Keep an eye on the “Regions” tab. When new areas like the Southern Narlmarches or Kamelands become available, claim them! This makes it much easier to stay in touch with your advisors when you're out exploring.
• Build Villages: Once you claim new regions, build a village there. Even a small one with a few buildings will attract artisans you can recruit.
• Rank Up Kingdom Stats: Complete those “Support the [Advisor’s] Endeavors” events. These are crucial for improving your kingdom.
• Prioritize Community and Loyalty: Get these two stats to Rank III as soon as possible. This will allow you to Claim the Northern Narlmarches and Claim the Kamelands, and importantly, unlock the Curator advisor role.
• General Stat Improvement: Aim to get all five starting advisor stats (Community, Loyalty, Military, Economy, and Divine) up to Rank III. This unlocks more advisor roles and makes them more effective.
• Research Curses: Keep an eye on the “Curses” tab and research any that pop up. This can have an impact on your game's ending. If you've been diligent, you might need new advisors to research some of them.
• Complete Training Events: These events under the “Training” tab make your advisors better at their jobs, helping them resolve Problems/Opportunities and earn you Kingdom Stats more efficiently.
• Handle Problems/Opportunities: Deal with events in the “Events” tab. Always favor dealing with Problems over Opportunities, as unresolved Problems can hurt your Kingdom Stats, while missed Opportunities are just that – missed chances.

Once you've got a handle on these kingdom management tasks, we'll move on to looking at some significant kingdom events that are likely to occur. For now, focus on building a strong foundation for your barony!
