- 1When traveling in the Narlmarches, you may encounter slavers from the Technic League, led by Kalannah. They demand a slave to replace their deceased one.
- 2You have moral choices: surrender a companion (Neutral Evil), volunteer yourself (Neutral Good), or fight. Fighting immediately is the recommended course of action to avoid a handicapped rescue mission later.
- 3If you choose to fight, decline their offer. The most dangerous enemy is the Technic League Mage furthest north, who casts 'Cause Fear'. Charge her with your warriors to prevent her from casting.
- 4Deal with the two Technic League Swordsmen using debilitating spells like 'Sleep', 'Color Spray', 'Hideous Laughter', or 'Hold Person'.
- 5Focus on Kalannah, who will flee after taking damage. If left unattended, she summons Wolves.
- 6Ignore the Technic League Bowman for now.
- 7After defeating the enemies, loot the bodies for an Estoc +1 and a Masterwork Longbow.

Tracking the Technic League:
- After the ambush, you can track the Technic League back to their camp. This is initiated via an Illustrated Book episode.
