Walkthrough

    When you arrive at Oleg's Trading Post, head northeast to find Oleg being accosted by bandits led by Kressle.

    Approach the scene. You have two main choices:
    • Evil Choice: Use the [Evil] dialogue option to shake down Oleg for 300 Gold Coins. The bandits will leave, vowing retaliation.

    Neutral Good/Attack: Choose the [Neutral Good] option or attack directly. A fight will begin. Kressle will turn invisible and flee. Fight the remaining three bandits. Oleg will provide ranged support.

    After defeating the bandits (if necessary), talk to Oleg. He will complain about impending bandit reprisals.

    Ask to see Oleg's wares. Sell excess arms and armor. Items sell for 1/4 of their listed value.

    Ask Oleg about the man running from the outpost earlier. He will identify him as Bokken, an alchemist working for the Stag Lord.

    Exhaust Oleg's dialogue options, asking about the bandits. This will reveal information about Auchs and Dovan and lead to another moral choice:

    Ask Oleg about using Alchemist Fire, which will help during the upcoming fight.

    Talk to Bokken, who is northeast of Oleg. Ask for aid against the bandits, and he will give you a Potion of Cure Light Wounds.

    Attempt a [Diplomacy 16] check to convince Bokken to provide more substantial support.

    Prepare for the bandit attack:
    • Save your game.

    Interact with a crate near Oleg and Svetlana to deploy traps.

    Go to the southwestern end of the outpost and interact with a jar of tar to place it near the entrance, creating a trap combination.

    Loot the northern watch tower for a Heavy Crossbow, a Longsword, and two Bucklers.

    In the southwestern corner, loot two crates for a Heavy Mace, a Jasper gem, and 10 GP from one, and a Silver Spoon and 5 GP from the other.

    Level up all your characters using the gained XP.
Tips
  • Weapons are generally better items to haul about than armor for selling purposes.
  • Items only sell for 1/4 of their listed value.
  • Leveling up characters before the bandit attack can significantly increase their effective HP and survivability.
