Learn how to build your kingdom in Pathfinder: Kingmaker. This guide covers appointing advisors, ranking up stats, constructing buildings, and claiming regions.

You’ll start out with five primary advisor positions when your barony is founded in Chapter 2: Regent (Community), Councilor (Loyalty), General (Military), Treasurer (Economy), and High Priest (Divine). To assign an advisor, open your kingdom map, click the “Advisors” tab, and select a portrait to see a list of assignable characters.

Assigned advisors handle projects and events related to their position. Here’s a list of characters and their potential advisory roles:

  • Amiri — General
  • Bartholomew — Diplomat, Treasurer
  • Ekundayo — Minister, Warden
  • Harrim — High Priest
  • Jaethal — Curator, Minister
  • Jhod — High Priest
  • Jubilost — Minister, Treasurer
  • Kanerah — Treasurer
  • Kassil — General
  • Kesten — Warden
  • Lander — Regent
  • Linzi — Curator, Diplomat
  • Maegar — Treasurer
  • Octavia — Magister, Regent
  • Regongar — General, Warden
  • Shandra — Councilor
  • The Storyteller — Curator, Magister
  • Tristian — Councilor
  • Tsanna — Councilor, High Priest
  • Valerie — Diplomat, Regent
  • Vordakai — Magister

Kingdom Stats improve as events and projects are completed. Each stat starts at Rank I and becomes eligible for a rank-up every 20 Kingdom Points. A “Rank Up” project will appear in the “Rank Up” tab, taking two weeks to complete with your protagonist and chosen advisor, advancing the Kingdom Stat.

As your Kingdom Stats rank up, secondary advisor positions will unlock:

To construct a building, open your kingdom map, click your capital’s icon, select “enter,” then choose “Build” on the overview screen. Select a building and place it on an open grid space. You need to fill eight slots on the capital grid to occupy eight slots.

The “Claim the Outskirts” project, available early in Chapter 2 under the “Regions” tab, costs 150 BP and takes two weeks with an advisor. Claiming regions grants access to events for faster Kingdom Stat gains and allows for settlement construction.
