Complete the An Amusement for the Nobles quest in pathfinder kingmaker. Learn how to find the Hunting Grounds and defeat the Greater Enraged Owlbear.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Leave your capital and travel east twice, then north once to reach the Hunting Lodge.
  2. 2
Speak with Jamel Visser to learn about the hunting competition involving three “dire monsters”.
  3. 3
After Jamel Visser finishes speaking, inspect your rivals and then commence the hunt, which will reveal the Hunting Grounds area.
  4. 4
Speak with Jamel Visser again and ask any questions. Search behind the counter to find a chest requiring a Perception skill check of 20. Unlock it with a Trickery skill check of 24 to obtain 221 GP and two Potions of Bear’s Endurance.
  5. 5
Speak with the ailing servant near the fireplace. You can choose to wish him rest (Neutral Good), rudely demand he leave (Neutral Evil), or ask him to sabotage your rivals by spreading his illness (Chaotic Neutral).
  6. 6
Leave the Hunting Lodge and head north to reach the Hunting Grounds.
  7. 7
Upon entering the Hunting Grounds from the southwestern edge, head north along the western edge to encounter a pack of worgs, including one Alpha Worg and three Greater Worgs. These Greater Worgs have five Barbarian levels and the Alpha Worg has seven. They have good Hit Points and decent Attack rolls, with a trip attack. Their Will Saves are not well-protected. A Glitterdust spell is highly effective. Grease and Web spells may also work but are better used after battle lines are established.
  8. 8
After defeating the worgs, make your way to the northeast. You may be accosted by an Owlbear. Buffs like Mage Armor, Shield, Shield of Faith, Bull’s Strength, Mirror Image, and Stoneskin are recommended. An adequate tank should have around 40 Armor Class.
  9. 9
Venture north from the previous Owlbear to find several more Owlbears. Use Glitterdust to blind them and/or Grease and Web to slow them. Animate Dead can provide fodder, and Haste can increase your offensive output.
  10. 10
Continue north and be wary of another pack of three Greater Worgs ambushing in the scrub to the west.
  11. 11
Continue north to find the Greater Enraged Owlbear in the northwestern corner of the area, along with Mivonian hunters. Hit the Owlbear with a debilitating spell like Glitterdust and/or Slow before engaging. Buffing yourself with Haste is also recommended.
  12. 12
Kill the Greater Enraged Owlbear and loot it to obtain the Owlbear’s Head.
Tips
  • The Greater Worgs have five Barbarian levels and the Alpha Worg has seven, giving them good Hit Points and decent Attack rolls.
  • Their trip attacks can be a problem.
  • Their Will Saves are not well-protected, making Glitterdust very effective.
  • Their Reflex Save is a bit higher, so Grease and Web spells are better reserved for after lines of battle have been established.
  • Owlbears can pack a punch; use buffs like Mage Armor, Shield, Shield of Faith, Bull’s Strength, Mirror Image, and Stoneskin.
  • An adequate tank will need to push 40 Armor Class to engage Owlbears relatively unscathed.
  • The Greater Enraged Owlbear can be debuffed with Glitterdust and/or Slow. Haste can also be beneficial.
