Learn how to navigate the Boggard Hunting Grounds: Outskirts 2 in Pathfinder: Kingmaker. Discover enemy tactics, loot locations, and tips for overcoming these swampy foes.
Alright, so you're looking to clear out the Boggard Hunting Grounds on the outskirts, huh? It's not too far from Thorn Ford, just a bit of a trek. To get there, you'll want to head Northwest along the Thorn River, then East, then Northeast, and finally Southeast. Stick to that path and you'll be there in no time.
When you first arrive, you'll find a few Boggards chilling just a short distance north. Don't let them fool you; while they're not tougher than the ones you might've fought near Two-River's Field, their 'Terrifying Croak' ability can be a real pain when you're dealing with groups of them. Keep an eye on your party's fear levels – too many croaks and your characters might start panicking!
Once you've dealt with that first group, make sure to loot a nearby corpse. You'll snag a Ring of Protection +1, which is a solid defensive boost early on, along with some other odds and ends. Every bit of protection helps!
Keep pushing north, and you'll run into a second group of Boggards. This time, you'll face a Boggard Brute. These guys are nasty because they love to charge right past your front-line fighters to get to your squishier ranged characters and spellcasters. So, keep your tanks engaged and your damage dealers protected. After you take down the Brute, be sure to loot its body – you'll find a Masterwork Light Mace. There's another corpse nearby too, which is worth checking for a Cloak of Resistance +1, a Potion of Aid, and a Potion of Shield of Faith. These are great buffs to have on hand!
That's pretty much it for this little area. It's a good spot to grab some useful defensive gear and get some decent experience points early in the game. Happy hunting!
