Complete the 'Coins for a Dead Man's Eyes' quest in Pathfinder: Kingmaker. Choose to free Wilber for a Phylactery of Positive Channeling or Dorsy for a Cloak of Resistance +2.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Return to the specter Wilber near the shrine and inform him the well is cleared.
  2. 2
Show Wilber the cursed coins you found. He reveals they were used in a curse affecting him and Callistropsia (who became the Scythe-Tree).
  3. 3
To free Wilber, choose the dialogue option "Put the coins on Erastil’s altar".
  4. 4
Wilber will reward you with a trinket hidden under a boulder. Use TAB to locate the rocks and find the Phylactery of Positive Channeling. You will also receive 450 XP.
  5. 5
Alternatively, head north from the well, then northeast to a fork. Follow the road northwest and defeat a group of Tatzlwyrms, including a Greater Tatzlwyrm.
  6. 6
Continue northwest to find a hut inhabited by Dorsy, a ghoul.
  7. 7
Ask Dorsy who he is to learn his name and his role in the village's past. He explains he cast cursed coins into the well out of hatred for Nyta and can only be freed when "two coins serve as his eyelids".
  8. 8
If you have already given the coins to Wilber, you cannot give them to Dorsy. If you still have the coins, you can choose to give them to Dorsy.
  9. 9
If you tell Dorsy you used the coins, he will attack. If you choose to free him, you will receive a Cloak of Resistance +2 and 450 XP.
  10. 10
If you kill Dorsy without freeing him, you can loot a Masterwork Handaxe from him.
  11. 11
Once you have freed either Wilber or Dorsy, this quest will end.
Tips
  • The choice between freeing Wilber or Dorsy is a moral and practical one. Wilber is an innocent, while Dorsy's actions caused suffering. However, Dorsy offers a more immediately useful magical item (Cloak of Resistance +2) compared to Wilber's Phylactery of Positive Channeling.
  • Killing either undead creature without freeing them will not grant the specific rewards associated with their release.
  • Freeing Wilber: 450 XP, Phylactery of Positive Channeling
  • Freeing Dorsy: 450 XP, Cloak of Resistance +2
  • Killing Dorsy: Masterwork Handaxe
