Odin and Alexander Boss Guide

Master the Odin and Alexander superboss fight in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Learn optimal character loadouts, materia setups, and step-by-step strategies to overcome this challenging encounter.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Alexander is weak to Lightning.
• Odin is neutral to most elements.

Phases:

1. Phase 1: Odin Focus
   • Immediately attack Odin, ignoring Alexander.
   • Use ATB abilities and Cloud's Punisher Mode counter to prevent Odin's Zantetsuken.
   • Watch for Gjallarhorn's Warning, indicating Zantetsuken is imminent; reset if seen.
   • If Odin uses Sleipnir's Furor, he is pressured; build stagger gauge quickly.
   • Stagger Odin to deal significant damage, aiming to reduce him to half health.
   • Odin will use Vanish and leave the battle.
2. Phase 2: Alexander Focus
   • Turn attention to Alexander.
   • Target Alexander's arms first, destroying one at a time.
   • Once both arms are destroyed, Alexander will be pressured.
   • Quickly stagger Alexander before he uses Divine Judgement.
   • Focus on staggering and defeating Alexander; ignore karma mechanics.
3. Phase 3: Odin Returns (if Alexander not defeated)
   • If Alexander is not defeated before Odin reappears, prioritize defeating Odin.
   • Fight Odin as in Phase 1.
   • If Alexander is preparing Divine Judgement, heal and prepare for the attack.
   • Defeat Odin, then return focus to Alexander.
4. Phase 4: Odin Alone (if Alexander defeated first)
   • If Alexander is defeated before Odin reappears, you will face Odin alone.
   • Fight Odin as you did in Phase 1, using debuffs if available.
   • Continue pressure until Odin is defeated.

Strategy:

• Character Loadouts: Equip Lightning linked to Elemental Materia on two main attackers for Alexander. Use standard materia otherwise, pairing Magnify with Time Materia for Haste.
• Odin's Zantetsuken: Prevent this one-hit kill by maintaining pressure on Odin with ATB abilities or Cloud's Punisher Mode counter. Cloud's Counterstance can also work, but be wary of Odin's Reprisal.
• Alexander's Arms: Concentrate attacks on one arm at a time until destroyed, then move to the second.
• Staggering: Prioritize staggering both Odin and Alexander quickly to maximize damage and prevent powerful ultimate attacks.
• Debuffs: Odin is susceptible to stat debuffs; use them if equipped.
• Healing: Be prepared to heal your party, especially when Alexander prepares Divine Judgement.
• Difficulty: This is a challenging double summon fight; expect to attempt it multiple times to find a good rhythm.
