Phases:

1. Phase 1 (Full HP to ~50% HP): The boss is vulnerable to pressure. Focus on attacking and using your strongest abilities to build its stagger gauge. If you fail to pressure it sufficiently after Mako Ingestion, it will use Memento Mori, a powerful party-wide attack.
2. Phase 2 (~50% HP to ~25% HP): After a cutscene, the fight moves to a more mako-dense area. The boss may become unpressurable, meaning Memento Mori is more likely. Keep your HP high and be prepared for sustained offense.
3. Phase 3 (~25% HP to Defeat): The boss uses Mako Overdose, covering the field in mako. This inflicts Poison and Fury on both the boss and your party, and debuffs your defense. Expect more unblockable attacks. Blitz to finish the fight quickly, as Fury amplifies incoming damage.

Strategy:

• The Specimen H1024 is weak to Ice, so bring Blizzard or other ice-based abilities to maximize your damage output.
• Pay close attention to the boss's animations. It has both normal and unblockable versions of many attacks. The unblockable versions often appear after Mako Ingestion.
• Mako Ingestion: The boss inhales mako and buffs itself, gaining either an offensive or defensive boost. This often precedes its unblockable attacks.
• Memento Mori: This unblockable cinematic attack occurs if you don't pressure the boss enough after Mako Ingestion. It deals massive damage to the entire party, so pressure is key in the first phase.
• Mako Overdose: At low HP, the boss unleashes this attack, covering the arena in mako. It inflicts Poison and Fury on everyone, including itself, and lowers your defense. This makes all subsequent attacks much more dangerous.
• Unblockable Attacks: Be ready to dodge or block attacks like Wrathful Wave (three quick ground slams), Peculiar Pulse (ground slam with shockwave), Sweep (a basic sweep), Rampage (melee combo), and Slam (heavy ground slam).
• In the final phase, with the Poison and Fury debuffs active, focus on ending the fight as quickly as possible to minimize the damage taken from its increasingly powerful attacks.
