Sephiroth Boss Guide

Control Zack: You will control Zack alongside Cloud. Familiarize yourself with Zack's combat style. His normal attacks are similar to Cloud's, with Hold Square launching enemies (not effective on Sephiroth) and aerial attacks spiking them down.

Zack's Abilities: Zack has two Level 1 abilities: Chain Slash (damage-focused) and Meteor Shot (increases stagger gauge).

Charge Meter: Use Zack's Triangle skill, Charge, to hold down the button and increase the meter. This levels up his abilities. The meter depletes if not charged.

Charge Level III: At Charge Level III, Zack gains High Braver, allowing up to three consecutive strikes with precise Square button timing.

Zack's Materia: Zack is equipped with Fire, Blizzard, Aero, Cure (linked with Magnify), Raise, and Haste Materia. Utilize these, especially Cure and Haste.

Synergy Ability: Zack's Synergy Ability with Cloud, SOLDIER's Honor, grants Zack unlimited MP for a short duration, which is very helpful.

Sephiroth's Attacks: Be aware of Sephiroth's varied attacks:

• Melee Combo 1: Quick slashes with a potential delay slash.

Melee Combo 2: A dash, spinning slash, aerial plunge, and explosion.

Air Melee Combo: Fires a projectile that launches you, followed by an air combo.

Zanshin: Fires three waves of energy after a sword swing.

Skewer: Unblockable grab move; fast and teleports to you.

Octaslash: Unblockable, charged attack with eight quick slashes.

Octaslash Prime: Unblockable follow-up dash attack after Octaslash.

Strategy: Sephiroth is quick, and while his normal attacks don't do massive damage individually, they add up in combos. Block or perfectly block his melee combos. Skewer is hard to avoid due to its speed and teleportation. Octaslash has a long charge time, allowing you to evade, but getting hit once means taking the full attack. Octaslash Prime is unavoidable if you're hit by Octaslash. Use Zack's Cura/Curaga with Magnify to heal. The SOLDIER's Honor Synergy Ability is crucial for unlimited MP. Focus on attacking in between Sephiroth's moves to build stagger. Exploit staggers to deal significant damage. The fight ends with a cutscene when Sephiroth's health is low, leading into the next boss fight.
