Learn the controls, strategies, and opponent weaknesses for the 3D Brawler minigame in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Defeat all challengers and claim your rewards!
The 3D Brawler minigame in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth focuses on filling your Limit Gauge to defeat your opponent before they do the same. There are no health bars; getting hit only advances your opponent's Limit Gauge. Avoid spamming attacks; wait for your opponent to leave themselves open. Attacks will miss if attempted after the opponent's move. You'll see upcoming attacks on a splash screen, but their execution is only revealed by animation. A flash at the top of the screen indicates the correct input if you're hit. Memorization is key to mastering this minigame.
- 1Dodge incoming attacks.
- 2Attack during opponent openings.
- 3Fill your Limit Gauge.
- 4Use your Limit Break when it's full.
- 5The first to use their Limit Break wins.
- Pay attention to the splash screen before the fight to see opponent's moves.
- Observe attack animations to predict and dodge correctly.
- Memorize attack patterns for easier dodging.
- Attack only when the opponent is vulnerable, typically when their arm is dangling.
- Use your Limit Break as soon as your gauge is full to win.

Saucer Brawler - 3D Brawler
The Saucer Brawler is the easiest opponent, serving as a tutorial. He uses only a left hook and a right hook. Look for when he stands idle with a dangling arm to attack. If his right arm (your left) is dangling, use a left hook, and vice versa. Dodging is generous; initiate it when you see his arm begin to move back.
Fat Moogle - 3D Brawler
The Fat Moogle is your first true challenge. In addition to hooks, he uses straight punches, requiring you to tilt the analog stick up to dodge. Straight punches have a slight wind-up (hand rotation), while hooks do not. The attack timing and openings are similar to the Saucer Brawler; attack when the Fat Moogle is idle with a dangling arm.
Dio - 3D Brawler
Dio has hooks and a straight punch (with his left hand, your right). His uppercut (dodged by pressing down on the left analog stick) is used with his right hand. The uppercut involves Dio dipping lower than normal. Dio's straight punch has a larger wind-up than the Fat Moogle's. Dio also introduces a three-hit combo when he powers up with a red aura: right hook, left hook, then uppercut. After this combo, he is open to attack. He is your final opponent in Chapter 8.
