Chocobos in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth are more than just a way to get around faster; they're also your key to uncovering hidden treasure! Keep an eye out for a question mark icon above your chocobo's head – that's your signal that something valuable is buried nearby.

When you spot that question mark, get ready to use your chocobo's special ability. Press and hold the button (the game doesn't specify which one, so you'll need to check your controls!) until a small arrow appears near the icon. This arrow points you in the general direction of the hidden treasure. Follow the arrow, and once you're close, the treasure's location will glow blue on the ground, and a blue line will connect you and your chocobo, making it super easy to find.

Don't dawdle too much, though! The treasure hunt mechanic is often timed. If you take too long to find the glowing spot, you might have to start the process over. Once you've located the blue glow, ride over to it and press the button (again, check your controls!) to 'scour' the ground. If you're in the right spot, you'll dig up your prize!

The loot you find from these treasure hunts can range from common crafting materials to rare items that would otherwise be a pain to farm. It's a great way to stock up on supplies and find unique gear without a lot of extra effort.
