Phoenix Boss Guide

Master the Phoenix boss fight in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth with our comprehensive guide. Learn its attacks, weaknesses, and strategies to overcome this challenging summon.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Phoenix takes reduced damage while reinforcements are active.
• Reinforcement weaknesses vary: Flan (Fire), Bomb (none), Grandhorn (Fire), Archdragon (Wind), Fleetwing (Wind), Ogre (Fire).

Phases:

1. Phase 1: Initial Summoning
   Phoenix uses Flame of Life to summon three orbs. It then uses Breath of Creation to hatch enemies from these orbs (Flan, Bomb, Grandhorn). Defeat all three reinforcements to pressure Phoenix and build its stagger gauge.
2. Phase 2: Mid-Fight Summoning
   After the first set of reinforcements are defeated, Phoenix will summon a second set (Archdragon, Fleetwing, Ogre). These also need to be defeated to pressure Phoenix.
3. Phase 3: Rebirth Flame
   At 50% HP, Phoenix unleashes Rebirth Flame, its unblockable ultimate attack. This deals massive damage and summons a full set of reinforcements (either the first or second set).

Strategy:

• Focus on defeating Phoenix's summoned reinforcements quickly, as Phoenix takes significantly reduced damage while they are alive.
• Use Fire spells against Flan and Grandhorn. Bomb has no weaknesses.
• Use Wind spells against Archdragon and Fleetwing. Use Fire against Ogre.
• Equip Elemental Materia linked with Fire Materia on your armor to halve fire damage taken.
• After Rebirth Flame, prioritize healing and then quickly eliminate the summoned reinforcements.
• Exploit the pressure and stagger phases after defeating reinforcements to deal maximum damage to Phoenix.
