The Pursuit of Perfection Quest Guide

Starting the Quest: Once you reach Chapter 9 and the Gongaga Region, accept 'The Pursuit of Perfection' side quest from the noticeboard. Then, make your way to Izo's Smithery, located southeast of Midriver Isle Tower. Speak with the Weaponsmith, who needs your help gathering materials to craft a new weapon for Barret.

Locate the Draconite Map: Your first task is to find the Draconite Map. Follow the path south from the smithery until you reach a nearby shed. Inside, you'll find a box containing the map.

Find the Draconite Deposits: With the map in hand, press the button to bring up your world map. Follow the stream heading west until you reach the Draconite Deposit location.

Clear the Enemies: Upon arriving at the deposit, you'll encounter Daggerwings. Switch to Barret and use his 'Maximum Fury' ability, or hit them with wind-based spells to defeat them quickly.

Gather the Draconite: After clearing out the Daggerwings, interact with the Draconite nodes. You need to collect a total of 8. Many of these nodes are accessible by climbing the nearby ropes, so don't hesitate to explore vertically.

Deliver to Izo: Once you've gathered all 8 Draconite deposits, return to Izo at his smithery. Hand over the materials.

Receive Your Reward: After a short amount of time has passed in-game, Izo will have finished crafting the weapon. You'll receive the Fafnir Rifle for Barret, which is a powerful weapon focused on increasing his Magic Attack.
