Description: This monster originates from Japanese folklore. She is depicted as a wizened old woman with very sharp eyes, who strips the clothes off of dead sinners as they cross the Sanzu-no-Kawa (a river for souls of the dead, similar to the river Styx in Greek Mythology). She hangs these clothes on tree branches, with the number of clothes stolen correlating to the number of crimes committed in life. The glint in her sharp eyes is said to bestow blessings upon innocent souls crossing the river.
