Navigate the Amara Deep Zone in Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster. Learn about Menorahs, Calpas, and key locations like the Eastern Vault to progress.

When you first return to the Amara Deep Zone (ADZ), speak with the Nurse and the Old Gentleman. The Nurse explains that the Menorahs you and the defeated Majin possess are part of her master's collection and represent the "flame of life" that controls the ADZ's energy. These were stolen by the Majin. Those holding Menorahs can traverse the ADZ freely, though it's usually restricted. If you agree to retrieve the remaining 10 Menorahs (you already have the Kingdom Menorah), the Old Gentleman will grant you free access to explore the ADZ.

If you refuse, the Nurse warns that other Majin may target you for your Menorah. You can change your mind later. If you accept, she thanks you and explains that the Menorahs naturally want to be together, which will guide you to the others. She instructs you to place found Menorahs on the dais at the entrance of each tier of the ADZ.

After leaving, you'll witness a brief conversation between the Nurse and her master, hinting at trials for a "chosen Majin" to birth a new demon.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Place the Base Menorah on the dais at the entrance to the first Calpa to open the path.
  2. 2
The first floor (B1F) of the first Calpa is relatively straightforward. Key points of interest include:
    • Information Shinentai: Provides lore about the ADZ being a different dimension and hints that completing this dungeon may affect "create the world" endings. Another Shinentai relays a prophecy about stopped time and a new beginning.
  3. 3
Kamara: Located in the east. If you identify as a demon, she will become a friend and clue you into the locations of other Majin in the Vortex.
  4. 4
Dark Doctor: Offers healing services for an increasing fee (starting at 2000 Makka).
  5. 5
Dark Broker: Sells a Lv 28 Pishacha with specific skills for dungeon exploration for 15,000 Makka.
  6. 6
There are five ladders down on B1F: East, West, Center, Northeast, and Northwest.
    • Center: Leads to the Calpa exit, which is sealed until a switch in the Eastern Vault is activated.
  7. 7
East: Leads to the Eastern Vault but is blocked by a pit, making it a dead end from this side.
  8. 8
West: Leads to the Western Vault, which is locked and requires a key from the Second Calpa. The Black Visor is found here.
  9. 9
Northeast: Leads to the Eastern Vault.
  10. 10
Northwest: Leads to a sealed section of B1F with another Graveyard, accessible through a secret "swirly" wall.
  11. 11
B1F is divided into Eastern and Western Vaults. The Western Vault is locked and requires a key from the Second Calpa.
  12. 12
The Eastern Vault is your target. Accessing the Vault itself reveals a switch that opens the way to a new peephole and the Second Calpa. The Vault is protected by pit traps. Falling into a pit leads to a Shinentai who, for 2000 Makka, will advise you to "look at the ceiling." Unlit ceiling tiles indicate trap locations.
Tips
  • The Dark Broker's Pishacha is useful for its skills if you need a specialized demon for exploration.
  • Pay attention to the "swirly" walls for secret passages.
  • The hint about "looking at the ceiling" in the pit trap rooms is crucial for navigating the Eastern Vault safely.
