BOSS: MAJIN WHITE RIDER

Learn the best strategy to defeat the tough Majin White Rider in Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster, including recommended demons and skills.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• HP/MP: 4000/1500
• Affinity: Immune to Fire
• Skills: God Arrow, Prominence, De-Kaja, Dragon's Eye

Phases:

1. White Rider summons two Tenshi Virtues to assist him.
2. White Rider uses Prominence frequently for heavy fire damage.
3. White Rider's God Arrow is an instant-kill Hama attack that never misses unless the target is immune.
4. The Tenshi Virtues will spam Raku-nda.

Strategy:

• The key to this fight is bringing the right demon. Gunshin Valkyrie is practically tailor-made for this battle. Her pre-evolved form, Yoma Dis, is also a good substitute.
• Valkyrie's strengths are crucial: she absorbs Fire attacks, completely negating White Rider's powerful Prominence. She can also cast Tetraja, which nullifies God Arrow's instant-kill effect. Finally, her Petra-Eye skill is excellent for dealing with the Tenshi Virtues.
• For the best setup, go into the fight with only the Hero (make sure he can absorb flame, perhaps by equipping Gehenna) and Valkyrie.
• Round 1: Pass the Hero's turn to Valkyrie. Have her use Petra-Eye on the first Tenshi Virtue to petrify it. Pass the Hero's turn again and have Valkyrie use Petra-Eye on the second Virtue. This takes care of both annoying summons in the first round, preventing them from spamming Raku-nda. Important: Do NOT kill the petrified Virtues. White Rider will simply summon more.
• Round 2: Have Valkyrie cast Tetraja to protect against God Arrow.
• From here on: Focus your attacks on White Rider. With Valkyrie's support, he'll have a hard time damaging your party, mostly relying on physical attacks which are infrequent and not too damaging.
• Once White Rider is defeated, you can summon in any other demons you want to gain experience from the fight. Then, you can kill the petrified Virtues for easy EXP for your minions.
