Learn how to defeat the tough Majin Red Rider in Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster. Get tips on his skills, weaknesses, and the best strategy to win.

Stats / Weaknesses:

  • HP: 4300
  • MP: 1700
  • Affinity: Boss Immunities, Immune to Electricity

Skills:

  • Tera Sword (Physical attack on all, chance to Panic)
  • Shinkuha
  • Shockwave
  • De-Kunda (Removes stat debuffs)
  • Dragon's Eye

Phases:

  1. Majin Red Rider summons two Tenshi Powers.

Strategy:

  • Majin Red Rider's main threat is Tera Sword, which damages everyone and can cause Panic. If your MC has Mind Immunity, the Panic won't affect them.
  • Bring plenty of Iwakura Water to heal your party, especially from the Panic effect.
  • Alternatively, a High Priest demon with Distant Prayer can heal and remove Panic simultaneously.
  • When Red Rider summons his Tenshi Powers, use Petra-Eye to petrify them. If you have Valkyrie or Arahabaki, they can use this skill. Petrifying them prevents them from casting Taru-Kaja, which would make Tera Sword much more dangerous. Deal with them after Red Rider is defeated.
  • Red Rider can also use Shinkuha and Shockwave. This makes it tricky to use demons with high Electricity resistance, as they might be weak to Shock, and vice versa.
  • Reducing the damage from Tera Sword is crucial. Use Raku-kaja to boost your party's defense.
  • Don't bother trying to debuff Red Rider's stats, as he will just use De-Kunda to reset them.
  • For added safety, equip the Murakumo or Kamudo Magatama. Kamudo is only useful if your MC has Mind Immunity.
  • The key is to avoid bringing demons that are weak to Shock or Electricity. If you manage to petrify the Tenshi Powers and focus on Red Rider, the fight shouldn't be too difficult.
  • After Red Rider is defeated, you can revive any petrified demons and swap in those that need experience.
