BOSS: GEDO SPECTRE x 3

Learn the easiest strategy to defeat the Gedo Spectre x 3 boss fight in Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster. Exploit their weaknesses and end the battle quickly!

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Gedo Spectre HP: 700 MP: 500
• Affinity: Boss Immunities, Reflects all magic
• Skills: Self-Destruct, Call Ally, De-Kaja

Phases:

1. The Gedo Spectre will summon allied Spectres to attack you.
2. These allies will attempt to use Self-Destruct to deal heavy damage.
3. If the Gedo Spectre summons its tenth ally, all allies will simultaneously use Self-Destruct, which is almost certainly a party wipe.

Strategy:

• The key to this fight is speed. You want to end it as quickly as possible to avoid the Spectres' Self-Destruct ability.
• Bring three demons into your party, each equipped with a powerful physical attack that hits all enemies.
• On your turn, have every one of your characters (including your demons) use their area-of-effect physical attack.
• The goal is to defeat most, if not all, of the summoned Spectres in the very first round.
• If you let the Gedo Spectre summon too many allies, you'll be in serious trouble. The game is designed so that if the Gedo Spectre summons its tenth ally, every single one of them will blow themselves up. This simultaneous explosion is incredibly difficult to survive, regardless of your party's strength.
• Maniacs Note: The Maniacs version of this fight is easier. While more Spectres are summoned initially, only one will use Self-Destruct per round, and they don't seem to summon additional allies. In the original Nocturne, they could all detonate at once or summon more to overwhelm you.
• Maniacs Note 2: If you happen to have Majin Black Rider in your party, his Soul Balance attack is incredibly effective here.
