Conquer the challenging Graveyards in Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster with essential tips on party composition, equipment, critical hits, and physical attacks.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Bring an extra-beefy party: The turn requirements for most bosses in the Graveyards are stringent. It's best to tackle these challenges after you've more or less finished the game and are extremely tough.
  2. 2
Equip Masakadus: This equipment makes you invincible to most bosses, allowing you to focus entirely on offense and avoid dying.
  3. 3
Don't always bring in a full party: Unless you have a demon guaranteed to deal big-damage criticals or exploit Weak Points, it's often better to go it alone with your Hero. Every turn counts, and wasted turns with half-assed damage dealers are detrimental.
  4. 4
Critical hits are critical: Most bosses are virtually impossible to defeat without frequent critical hits. A Hero with high Luck and the skill "Critical" is highly recommended. For bosses with Weak Points, exploiting them is an alternative. Skills like Surtr's Ragnarok are powerful magic options, but critical attacks often deal more damage. Allies with Silent Sky and fighting during a Silent Kagutsuchi can also be beneficial.
  5. 5
Ignore support Magic: Skills like Randomizers and -Kajas waste Press Turns in these fights. The only non-damaging skill worth using is Kiai.
  6. 6
Bring a Physical-damage oriented hero: While magic can exploit weak points, few bosses have them, and physical attacks often do more damage. An ideal "grave raider" Hero build includes skills like Kiai, Deathbound, Supreme Blast, Deathsport, Critical, and Penetrate. Must-have skills include Deathbound (hits multiple times), Deathsport (great against multi-enemy bosses and criticals often), Penetrate (for physically-resistant bosses), and Supreme Blast (deals the most damage and is crucial against Noah).

Alignment:

Alignment in SMT3 is more complex than in earlier games. Instead of a single Law/Chaos axis, there are three distinct philosophies battling for dominance. You can align with any of these three paths, or take one of two neutral paths (three in Maniacs), without siding with any of them. Your alignment affects the demons you can summon and the ending you receive.
