Hey there! So you're diving into Final Fantasy Tactics? Awesome choice! This guide is gonna be your best buddy as you get started. I've played through this game a bunch, and I'm writing this as if I'm right there with you, helping you out. Just a heads-up, I played on hard mode, so if you're on normal, things might feel a little easier for you. Let's get this journey started!
Just so you know, I'm using the PAL version of the game for this guide, which is the European/Australian release. It shouldn't make a huge difference, but it's good to keep in mind.

- Version 1.9 [22/7/08]: Some more work done on my 19th straight update. Not bad! Keeping the motivation going.

Part 3
Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift walkthrough for Part 3. Learn about mission types, the Quest Report, and important gameplay differences from the original.
This section of the guide covers the completion of Part 3 of Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift. It details the addition of more quests and information regarding the Heritor job class.
The guide's author provides updates on the progress of completing the walkthrough, aiming to finish all guides by Christmas of 2008. Subsequent updates track the increasing number of completed missions and the eventual completion of the guide in early 2009.
[1.03] Important Information
This section highlights key differences between Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift.
- Law System: The law system is now predetermined per battle and does not change. Breaking the law results in losing clan privileges, the ability to revive fallen members, and a law bonus.
- Difficulty and Bazaar: The game is harder initially, requiring decent weapons obtained through the Bazaar system. Loot dropped by enemies or received as mission rewards is used to craft weapons via recipes.
- Hard Mode: An optional hard mode increases enemy intelligence, strength, and speed by 50%, encouraging aggressive play.
- Turn Structure: The turn order is determined by unit speed, with faster units moving first, rather than a strict player-then-enemy turn structure.
- MP: All units start with 0 MP, making mages more challenging to use initially, though they have a regeneration rate of 10 MP per turn.
[2.01] Missions
Missions are the core of the game, providing income and progression. There are 400 missions in total, divided into Story, Mission, and Dispatch types. Only 300 missions are listed in the Primer, with the remaining 100 being random encounters.
- Story Missions: Necessary for game advancement.
- Missions: Optional missions that do not advance the main story.
- Dispatch Missions: Involve sending clan members on tasks while the player continues other activities.
The Quest Report on the Clan Info Screen tracks all seen and completed missions. Missions are organized into blocks of 16 within a 5x5 grid. The guide uses a notation system combining the grid coordinates (e.g., A1) and the mission number within the block (e.g., - 10) to identify each mission (e.g., A1 - 10).
A sample mission entry format is provided, including Name, Rank, Fee, Days, Required Items, Quest Type, and Reward.

- 26Objective: Defeat the monster, Klesta.
- 27Law Forbidden: Ranged Weapons (bows, greatbows, guns, hand-cannons, and cards are not allowed).
- 28Understanding the Judge System: This is a big change from previous games! The Judge no longer appears on the battlefield to enforce laws. However, breaking a law has serious consequences:
- The Judge will remove themselves from the battle.
- 29Fallen allies cannot be revived using Revive or Phoenix Down.
- 30Your Clan Privilege (any boosts you have active) will be nullified for the battle.
- 31You will lose the rewards the Judge normally gives at the end of the battle.
- 32Battle Strategy: You'll start the battle alongside Cid (AI-controlled). Your main target is the large bird, Klesta. You can either focus on it directly or take out the smaller Cockatrice enemies first.
- Recommended Approach: Use Luso and Cid to attack Klesta directly. Keep your White Mage busy healing them, as Klesta's 'Territorial Marking' attack is powerful and has long range. Its 'Peck Attack' is also strong and can knock back melee fighters.
- 33Damage Dealers: Use your Black Mage to deal consistent damage to Klesta and the Cockatrice.
- Pay close attention to the forbidden actions before each battle. Breaking laws can cost you dearly in this game!
- Don't underestimate the power of healing; keeping your front-line fighters alive is crucial, especially against bosses like Klesta.
- Experiment with the initial quiz answers if you're aiming for specific starting bonuses.
- 250 Gil
- Gilhet Lead x2
- Faren Pollen x2
- 2 Clan Points
