Walkthrough
  1. 1
    The first mission is to defeat five nearby enemies targeting the NPC (non-player character — anyone the game controls, not you) Claude. These include three Warlocks to the west and an Assassin and Fortress Knight to the north. Use the Orders menu to send characters with Gauntlets to defeat the Warlocks and a lance wielder for the Assassin. Control Shez or another sword user to fight the Fortress Knight yourself. You may also conquer the nearby stronghold guarded by another Fortress Knight. Afterwards, wait near the gate to the next stronghold to the north-east.

    Once Claude is safe, you have 3 minutes to gather information by completing Missions 3, 4, and 5. To recruit Byleth and Jeralt, you must clear all three within this time limit.

    This is the first of three missions to complete within 3 minutes. Capture three strongholds at the edge of the allied camp quadrant. Immediately order a Gauntlet user to the westernmost stronghold, a lance user to the middle stronghold, and control a sword user yourself for the easternmost stronghold. Order remaining characters to the south-west corner. The Stronghold Sabotage Strategy is useful here.

    This is the second of three missions to complete within 3 minutes. A Recon Soldier will appear near the south-west corner, surrounded by foes. Defeat the 3 highlighted Warlocks. When the alert appears, order characters, preferably with Gauntlets, to fight the Warlocks near the south-west corner.

    This is the last of three missions to complete within 3 minutes. After taking the easternmost stronghold, the gate to the north will open. Encounter and defeat Alois there. If you controlled a sword user for the easternmost stronghold, use that character to defeat Alois. Switch to characters still working on Missions 3 and 4 afterwards.

    If you succeeded in gathering intel, Claude will act as a decoy to lure out Byleth. You can order characters to defend Claude, or follow Claude to clear the battle faster.
Tips
  • To sway Yuri to your side, choose the 'Persuade Yuri' strategy, which costs 20 points.
  • The 'Stronghold Sabotage' strategy costs 10 points and weakens all enemy strongholds at the beginning of battle.
  • The 'Assign Armored Unit' strategy costs 10 points and assigns an armored unit to protect a target.
  • The 'Anti-Sword Training' strategy costs 10 points and grants the Swordbreaker ability to Stronghold Captains in allied strongholds.
  • For the S Rank, you need a completion time of 15:00, 1500 enemies defeated, and damage taken must be 50% or less.
  • If you fail to achieve the S Rank, you can retry the battle via the Record Keeper after getting stronger.
  • When Claude is playing decoy, stay close to him to quickly eliminate attackers and prevent him from being stuck.
