Learn what carries over in fire emblem warriors three hopes New Game Plus, including character levels, classes, items, and the unlockable Maddening difficulty.

How to Unlock New Game +:

  1. Complete the game and create an end save when prompted.
  2. Start a new game and choose to import data from your previous save. Your data will be auto-detected.
  3. Upon loading your New Game + save, you can choose on a character-by-character basis whether to keep their earned levels.
  4. You will then get to choose the difficulty for your next playthrough, including the new Maddening difficulty.

What Carries Over to a New Game + Playthrough:

fire emblem warriors three hopes is generous with New Game + content, expecting multiple playthroughs to see the full story. Most features carry over, with few exceptions being temporary Base Camp features locked behind progression.

  • Unlocked characters: Characters recruited or unlocked in previous playthroughs remain unlocked but are segregated. You can view their stats via the Convoy (in the “Other” category), change their class, equipment, and unlock new classes via the Training Grounds. You cannot use them in most battles, train with them, invite them to volunteer, or share meals until you recruit them again (availability depends on the route). All previously unlocked characters, recruited or not, can participate in battles via the Record Keeper, which unlocks at Chapter 5.
  • Character levels: Character levels carry over unless you choose otherwise on a character-by-character basis when starting a new playthrough. Resetting levels is possible at the Training Grounds at no cost, allowing for a more challenging playthrough or to level characters with access to higher-tier classes and better growth rates.
  • Class Unlocks and Mastery: Retained classes, mastery levels, unlocked Combat Arts and Magics, weapon proficiencies, and ranks in Combat Arts and Magics are automatically kept.
  • Support Ranks: You can optionally choose to retain all previously unlocked Support Ranks and Support Points.
  • Weapons, Battalions, Accessories, Gold, Renown, Resources and Materials: Almost all earned items, including weapons, accessories, Hero Relics, and character-specific Battalions, are kept automatically. The Blacksmith, for unleashing, forging, repairing, or modifying weapons, is unavailable until Chapter 5. Special accessories earned via the **[Merc Whistle]** are also retained.
  • Camp Level and Facility Upgrades: Facility upgrades and Camp Level are retained, providing more Activity Points, unlocked dishes, Training slots, and better odds for cooking and volunteering. However, features locked behind main quest progression, such as the Blacksmith, Battalion Master, and Supply Master (Chapter 5), and the Tactics Academy (Chapter 6), must be re-unlocked. Upgrades purchased via the Tactics Academy are retained, but new upgrades require progression.

What doesn't carry over are either choices made not to keep them, or features that must be re-unlocked via main quest progression.

What Unlocks in New Game +:

In addition to retaining progress, New Game + unlocks new features, primarily purchasable with Renown, and the Maddening difficulty mode.

Maddening Difficulty Mode:

Completing the game once on any difficulty unlocks Maddening difficulty for subsequent playthroughs. This mode adds a significant challenge to battles. Starting from Chapter 4, enemies will be Lv 100+ with +75 bonuses.
