How to Recruit Ignatz in Three Hopes: To In

In the Scarlet Blaze route, during the Main Quest of Chapter 6, you can deploy the 'Persuade Ignatz' Strategy by expending 10 Strategy Resources. You should have 50 Strategy Resources if you captured all regions prior to the Main Quest.

The first objective is to capture the three strongholds in front of you to secure a route to Ladislava.

After capturing one stronghold, a side mission will appear to capture the western stronghold.

Seize the western stronghold, which will cause Ignatz to appear northeast of it.

Initiate the 'Persuade Ignatz' Strategy when prompted and then defeat Ignatz in the area of effect (indicated by a purple glow) to recruit him.

Warning: If you defeat Ignatz without activating the Strategy first, he will die and cannot be recruited for the rest of the playthrough.

Alternatively, if you do not capture the western stronghold, Ignatz will ambush you with ballistae upon capturing the initial three strongholds and reaching the gate to Ladislava. You can trigger the Strategy here and then defeat him.

In the Azure Gleam route, at the start of Chapter 10, you will be given a choice to recruit several Golden Deer members.

Select the option "Recruit them to your team." to immediately gain Lorenz, Ignatz, Raphael, and Marianne.

If you select "Send them away to the rear," you will not be able to recruit them for the rest of the playthrough.

In the Golden Wildfire route, Ignatz is a starting character if you choose the Golden Deer at the beginning of the game.
