Walkthrough
  1. 1
After rescuing Nebby from Seعاد Cave, Lillie heals your party. You'll leave Melemele Meadow back to Route 3.
  2. 2
You will be challenged to a Pokémon battle by your rival, Hau.
  3. 3
Hau's Pokémon: Starter (Lv. 13), Noibat (Lv. 11), Pikachu (Lv. 12).
  4. 4
Pikachu is weak to Electric-resistant Pokémon. Noibat is weak to Ice and Rock but frail.
  5. 5
After the battle, Kukui informs you that your next destination is Hala’s Grand Trial in Iki Town.
  6. 6
Head south from the meadow entrance towards the suspension bridge.
  7. 7
Before the bridge, a man will show you something (during the day).
  8. 8
Cross the bridge to the south.
  9. 9
    You'll encounter Rising Star Joshua.
  10. 10
    Joshua's Pokémon: Growlithe (Lv. 12).
  11. 11
This Fire-type is weak to Water, Rock, and Ground-types.
  12. 12
South of Joshua, collect the Super Potion on the right side of the path.
  13. 13
Follow the path south-west down the slope.
  14. 14
At the end of the slope, head north-east towards tall grass.
  15. 15
On the other side of the tall grass, you'll find a berry stack and a Nest Ball near the edge.
  16. 16
Head back through the tall grass and dash south towards the route's exit.
  17. 17
If you defeated all trainers on Route 3, you can battle Ace Trainer Makana, located south-east from the Melemele Meadow entrance.
  18. 18
Makana's Pokémon: Slowpoke (Lv. 14), Butterfree (Lv. 14).
  19. 19
Slowpoke uses Yawn to induce sleep; finish it quickly with Grass, Electric, Ghost, or Dark moves.
  20. 20
Butterfree knows Roost, which heals HP and removes its Flying type temporarily. Use Fire, Ice, Electric, or Rock moves.
  21. 21
Defeating Makana earns you TM19 Roost.
  22. 22
Exit Route 3 via the south, leading to Rockruff on Route 1.
  23. 23
From Route 1, head west to return to Iki Town.
Tips
  • The easiest way to reach Iki Town is to traverse the remainder of Route 3.
  • When battling Noibat, brute force is an option due to its frailty, despite its weaknesses.
  • For Slowpoke, use moves that your Pokémon are not weak to, as it can inflict sleep.
  • TM19 Roost is generally recommended for Pokémon with reasonable bulk.
