Hey there! As you travel through the beautiful Alola region in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, you might notice some familiar Pokémon looking a little… different. These are called **Alolan Forms**, and they've adapted big time to fit their new island homes!

Think of it like this: an Alolan Form Pokémon still has the same Pokédex number as its original counterpart, but its stats might be tweaked, and its typing could be totally new. Because they've evolved to suit Alola, they can't just switch back to their old selves, and vice-versa. Pretty neat, huh?

What's even cooler is that some Pokémon you might have caught elsewhere will actually evolve into their Alolan forms if they level up in Alola. For instance, a regular Pikachu caught in the wild will evolve into an Alolan Raichu if it evolves here. It doesn't matter where you originally got the Pokémon from; if it evolves within Alola, you'll get the Alolan evolution!

You'll notice some abilities are marked with an asterisk (\*). That means they're Hidden Abilities, which are extra special!

Basically, Alolan Forms give older Pokémon a fresh start and a new role in your team. Some of the biggest beneficiaries are Marowak with its awesome typing and bulk, Ninetales for its access to Aurora Veil and Snow Warning, and Muk for its super defensive typing. The others are okay, but these three really shine with their new forms!
