Master Olivia's Rock-type Pokémon in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon! Learn her team's weaknesses and the best strategies to overcome her Trial.

Alright, you've made it to Olivia's Grand Trial! She's the Kahuna of Akala Island and she's all about Rock-types. Think of Water, Grass, Ground, Fighting, and Steel-types – those are gonna be your best friends here. You can find plenty of Water-types near Brooklet Hill or out at sea, and Lush Jungle is crawling with Grass-types. For Ground and Steel, you'll want to look for Diglett.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
    Olivia's First Pokémon: Anorith
Olivia starts with an Anorith (Level 27, Rock/Bug). Since it's part Bug-type, Water, Rock, and Steel moves will do super effective damage. Definitely don't lead with a Grass-type, as its Bug Bite move is super effective against them. Keep an eye out, because if your Pokémon is holding a berry, Anorith might just steal it!
  2. 2
    Olivia's Second Pokémon: Lileep
Next up is Lileep (Level 27, Rock/Grass). This one's part Grass-type, so if you've been using Water or Ground-types, you'll need to switch them out. Instead, bring out your Fighting or Steel-types. Ice-types are super effective against Lileep, but remember they're weak to Rock-types, so it's a bit of a trade-off. Try to avoid them if you can.
  3. 3
    Olivia's Ace: Lycanroc (Midnight Form)
Olivia's main Pokémon is her Midnight Form Lycanroc (Level 28, Rock). This thing looks pretty tough! It knows Bite, which can cause flinching, and Rock Tomb, which damages and lowers your Pokémon's Speed. The most dangerous move, though, is its Rock-type Z-Move. Stick with Fighting, Ground, or Steel-types to take it down, as they'll resist its Z-Move damage the best.
Tips
  • Type Matchups are Key: Olivia's Rock-types are vulnerable to Water, Grass, Ground, Fighting, and Steel. Plan your team accordingly!
  • Watch out for Anorith's Berry Steal: If you're using a Pokémon with a held berry, be prepared for Anorith to swipe it.
  • Lileep's Typing: Remember Lileep is Rock/Grass. While Ice is super effective, it's also weak to Rock, so consider your options carefully.
  • Lycanroc's Z-Move: Her Lycanroc has a powerful Rock-type Z-Move. Having Pokémon that resist Rock-type attacks will be crucial for survival.
  • After the Trial: Once you've defeated Olivia, you'll head outside the ruins. From there, you can make your way to Hano Grand Resort to prepare for leaving Akala Island. Just follow the main road east from Heahea City.

After you've successfully completed Olivia's Grand Trial, you'll receive the Rockium Z and her Trainer Memo.
