Learn about the Battle Agency's Battle Format in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, including grade progression, FC rewards, and weather conditions.
The Battle Agency in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon features a Battle Format with a grading system and unique weather conditions that affect battles as you progress.
Victory Spoils
Winning rounds in the Battle Agency increases your grade. Higher grades require more wins to advance. Initially, one win out of three rounds is enough to reach the next grade, but past grade 40, five rounds are needed. You also earn Festival Coins (FC). At Grade 0, winning one round yields 20 FC, while winning all three grants 200 FC. This makes the Battle Agency an efficient way to accumulate FC for Festival Plaza facilities, such as Rare Kitchens for quick Pokémon leveling.
At the highest grade, you can earn 270 FC for one win, 565 FC for two wins, and 935 FC for winning all three rounds.
Weather Conditions
Beyond certain grades, default weather conditions can appear, potentially hindering your team. These are random occurrences, so be prepared. The weather conditions unlocked at higher grades stack, meaning at the top grade, multiple effects can be active simultaneously.
| Grade Level | Weather Conditions |
| 10+ | Sun, Rain |
| 16+ | Hail, Sandstorm |
| 21+ | Electric Terrain, Misty Terrain |
| 31+ | Grassy Terrain, Psychic Terrain |
| 41+ | Harsh Sunlight, Heavy Rain, Strong Wind |
Harsh sunlight, heavy rain, and strong winds are effects associated with Primal Reversion Groudon, Primal Reversion Kyogre, and Mega Rayquaza, respectively. Harsh sunlight and heavy rain negate all water and fire moves, respectively, and cannot be overridden by weather-changing moves or Abilities. Strong Wind causes moves super-effective against Flying-type Pokémon to deal neutral damage instead. Most weather-changing moves and abilities (except Desolate Sand and Primordial Seal) fail in Strong Wind. Cloud Nine and Air Lock abilities can negate all three effects.
