Learn how Neverwinter damage resistance works: creatures ignore specific damage types up to a set amount, unlike damage reduction.

Damage resistance is a creature ability that lets them ignore damage of a specific type up to a specified amount. This is different from damage reduction, as damage resistance cannot be bypassed by weapons with a higher enhancement bonus. Similar to damage reduction, the amount of damage resisted is shown as a value and a damage type, for example, Fire 20/-. This means the initial 20 points of fire damage dealt to the creature are completely ignored.
