    Head west from The Thorn to find Vault 22. Be aware of Cazadores and Giant Mantises near the entrance.

    Enter the first room and find a "Restored Terminal" on a table to the south. Read Keely's journal entries.

    Go through the west doorway, then down stairs to a four-way intersection.

    Repair the elevator to the west (Repair 50). If you can't, proceed north through a doorway, down two flights of stairs, and through a door to Vault 22 - Oxygen Recycling.

    Enter the room to the east, then go south into another room with a Terminal containing expedition entries.

    Return to the hallway, continue north, turn west, enter the room to the south, then turn west again to reach the starting four-way intersection.

    At the four-way intersection, be prepared for hostile green humanoids (likely mutated plants) hiding amongst the plants.

    Travel east down a hallway and enter the first room to the south to find another terminal with expedition notes.

    Continue east until you find a hallway to the north. Follow it north and enter the first room to the west. Defeat the green humanoids and find a small room with a Restored Terminal and Food Additive. The terminal contains entries about the vault dwellers and the humanoids.

    Return to the hallway, backtrack south, and continue south down a new hallway.

    In a room to the east, find two terminals: the "Cave Door Access" terminal (which does not grant cavern access) and another Terminal detailing the vault's deterioration.

    Return to the four-way intersection at the beginning of the level and head south down two flights of stairs to Vault 22 - Common Areas.

    Head east through a door to reach the atrium.

    Continue east past a projector and down a hallway to the Overseer's office.

    Manipulate the Terminal on the table to potentially unlock the Crew Quarters ("Unlock Crew Quarters") and Data Backup ("Unlock Data Backup"). Note: Picking the locks via the terminal will prevent you from gaining XP for picking them manually. The "Unlock Cavern Access" entry does nothing.

Tips:

  • The Flamer weapon can be found in Vault 22 and may be useful later.
  • The Vault 22 Cave Door Keycard can open the door to the caves.
  • To start the quest "Bleed Me Dry," you need to collect a dozen Giant Mantis eggs from Vault 22 for Red Lucy at The Thorn.
  • The Thorn is an arena where you can bet on fights or participate yourself. You can fight Giant Mantises (30 Caps), Radscorpions (60 Caps), and Giant Radscorpions (120 Caps).
