Red Rock Canyon

If you completed the quest Bleed Me Dry, you should have already discovered Red Rock Canyon. If not, it’s east of Vault 3/South Vegas Ruins West Entrance. Once there, head north to find tents and the Great Khan Longhouse. Loot the tents, but avoid the longhouse for now, as its quests involve the political future of the Great Khans regarding the NCR and Caesar’s Legion.

Head west, north-west deeper into the canyon to find more tents surrounding a circular, fenced-off area. North of this circle, in a tent on a ledge, you’ll find Jerry the Punk. Talk to him, ask about the Khans, and succeed at a [Speech 33] check. He will reveal his unhappiness. After he mentions the Followers of the Apocalypse, offer to ask if he can join them to start the quest Cry Me a River. This quest can wait until you explore Freeside.

Red Rock Drug Lab

Backtrack to the south-east, keeping your eyes north for a narrow passage in the cliffs. Follow it north to find the Red Rock Drug Lab, run by two Khans, Jack and Diane. First, talk to Jack, who will explain the Khans' operation. Ask about work, and he’ll tell you to talk to Diane, starting the quest Aba Daba Honeymoon.

Offer to teach them new chems and pass a series of [Science 50] checks to teach them how to make Slasher, Party-Time Mentants, and Rocket. Each recipe taught earns you Great Khans Fame and your choice of 50 Caps, chems (Psycho and Jet), or Karma. This will advance time significantly, so ensure you have adequate food, water, and sleep if in Hardcore Mode.

After teaching them the recipes, talk to Jack again and suggest using their resources to make beneficial chems. Succeed at a [Speech 66] check to convince him to create both disease and cure. Ask how the operation is going, and you can teach him how to make Super Stimpaks ([Science 50]) and Hydra ([Survival 75]). Teaching him all these recipes can yield significant XP, Caps, Karma, and Fame.

Anders on a Btick

Turn your attention to Diane. Ask for work, and she’ll tell you one of her runners, Anders, went missing. If you find him, she’ll offer you more work. Recruit Veronica at the 188 Trading Post if she is not already with you. If you visited the Boomer Museum (with or without her), she should comment on it, which is one of three triggers for her quest I Can Make You Care.

Fast-travel to the Sniper’s Nest area and make your way down the cliffs to the south-east to reach Cottonwood Cove, or a road outside it. Follow the road north-east to the area. You don't need to discover Cottonwood Cove to trigger Veronica's comment about the Legion or to find Anders, who is east of the road leading to Cottonwood Cove. Talk to Anders and cut him down, then talk to him again to learn the Legion strung him up. The Legion executes drug runners.

Return to Diane. You can choose between a recipe for Turbo or 250 Caps as a reward. You will also gain Great Khan Fame and a new job delivering drugs.

A Package For Don

Accept the job and fast-travel to the Crimson Caravan compound. Head inside the Crimson Caravan Main Office building to find Don Hostetler. Talk to him, hand over the package, and return for your reward and your next job: delivering drugs to Motor Runner and his Fiends in Vault 3. This will allow you to complete another quest, make progress on Veronica’s quest, and explore Vault 3.
