Exploring the Mojave: From Westside to Jacobstown

Find Vance's 9mm Submachine Gun at The Wins Hideout in fallout new vegas. Requires Speech 55 check and bypasses Very Hard lock.

• Speech skill of 55 to convince Pauline Wins to give you the key.
• Ability to bypass a Very Hard lock for The Wins' Safe.

Harowitz Farmstead:

1. Exit The Wins Hideout and follow the highway northeast.
2. Look north to spot a house near (east of) a power station.
3. Dispatch the two Fiends guarding the house.
4. Search the house for chems, lootable containers, and a Patriot’s Cookbook magazine in the west room.
5. Return to the highway and continue northeast until you see a map marker north of the road.
6. Search the barn northwest of the power station to find the Horowtiz Farmstead, now occupied by Viper Gunslingers.
7. Defeat the Viper Gunslingers and loot their supplies in the northern end of the barn, including a Produce Sack, two Ammo Boxes (one locked Average), a First Aid Box, Irradiated Water, and a Sunset Sarsaparilla Star Bottle Cap on a crate.
8. From the Horowtiz Farmstead, head due north to a campsite near cliffs.
9. Engage the hostile Mercenaries. One wears Combat Armor, Reinforced, and carries the unique Gauss Rifle, the YCS/186. Prioritize eliminating him.
10. If you have the Wild Wasteland trait, a trio of Aliens, including an Alien Captain, will be present. They wield Tri-Beam Laser Rifles and the Captain has the unique Alien Blaster.

Brooks Tumbleweed Ranch:

1. Head west to Brooks Tumbleweed Ranch, which appears deserted.
2. Enter the corral behind (northeast of) the ranch house and confront a Nightkin.
3. You can choose to pay the Nightkin or kill it.
4. Loot the ranch house. On the ground floor, find a First Aid Box on a crate and Caps inside a Sunset Sarsaparilla Crate.
5. In a small northwest room, find a Sunset Sarsaparilla Star Bottle Cap on the floor and a First Aid Box on a metal shelf.
6. Head upstairs and search a metal cabinet at the end of the hallway to find a Cattle Prod and a copy of Lying, Congressional Style.

Followers Safehouse:

1. Leave the ranch and head southwest to return to the highway.
2. Take a smaller road southwest into the mountains.
3. Follow the road uphill until it is engulfed by cliffs, then veer south.
4. Follow the cliffs until you find a passage east to a shack on a hill. This is the Follower’s Safehouse. It is worth discovering even if you don't have access yet.

Ruby Hill Mine:

1. Return to the road north and follow it uphill into the mountains, which are populated by Bighorners.
2. When the canyon walls recede, loot northwest to find the entrance to Ruby Hill Mine along a cliff wall.
3. Enter the mine and clear the cavern of Lake Lurks.
4. From the main chamber, you can take stairs to an elevated platform leading to a tunnel that descends to an underground lake, or swim through a watery passage. This route allows you to loot two Explosives Crates and kill more Lakelurks before backtracking.
5. Alternatively, head down a tunnel to the west from the main chamber to reach the rocky shore of the lake.
6. Defeat the Lakelurks near the lake.
7. Find the body of a dead Jackal Gang Member south of the lake. Loot her body for a Worn Key, which bypasses a Hard lock.
