Exploring the Mojave: To Nellis Air Force Base

Mole Rat Ranch: Located northeast of the New Vegas Medical Clinic. Contains a hostile Brahmin and neutral Mole Rats. A nearby building has a tripwire-rigged Grenade Bouquet and a hidden Frag Mine. Loot includes a copy of Locksmith Reader, crafting components, chems, magazines, a Doctor's Bag, a First Aid Box, a Sniper Rifle, and .308 Rounds.

Field's Shack: North of the train tracks and electrical towers. Loot the Ammo Box and Sunset Sarsaparilla Crate on the truck outside. Inside the shack, find three more Ammo Boxes and the Abilene Kid LE BB Gun on a metal shelf.

George's Encounter: East of Field's Shack, follow the road uphill. George offers a wager: pay 300 Caps (200 with Barter 40) to double your money if you survive, or intimidate him with Speech 30. He provides "Nellis Artillery Timing Details" on two routes to Nellis: the artillery run or the train tunnel.

Hot Foot (Artillery Run): Prepare by un-equipping weapons, wearing lighter armor, disbanding companions, and hotkeying healing items. Follow the cliffs north/north-east from the ruined village, avoiding the artillery fire. Keep moving towards the Nellis Air Force Base fence. Follow the fence east/south-east to the gate. Minimal damage is expected if running along the cliffs.

Raul's Shack: South of the train tunnel. Follow southern cliffs south, south-east, then east. Loot includes crafting components, a Workbench, Ammo Boxes, Frag Grenades, chems, food, a Doctor's Bag, a Sunset Sarsaparilla Crate, and the Guns and Bullets magazine.

Train Tunnel: East of Raul's Shack. The entrance is locked [Very Hard]. Deathclaws lurk south of the tunnel. A sneak attack critical with a Gobi rifle and .308 JSP rounds can kill a Deathclaw in one hit. Aim for the head in VATS if it approaches.
