Explore Morning Star Cavern, Crescent Canyon, and the Old Nuclear Test Site in fallout new vegas. Find loot like the Advanced Radiation Suit.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Fast travel to the Mojave Outpost and head downhill to the east to find Morning Star Cavern. Outside, you may encounter Night Stalkers, which are coyote-snake hybrids. They can poison you and attack in packs. Engage them with ranged weapons and keep moving.
  2. 2
Inside Morning Star Cavern are more Night Stalkers, including a Den Mother. Loot a dead Mercenary and his Duffle Bag at the end of the cavern.
  3. 3
South of Morning Star Cavern, explore a crescent-shaped chasm. Be wary of Golden Geckos, which are stronger than normal Geckos. There is also radiation in this area.
  4. 4
Near an overturned truck in the chasm, find a Radiation Suit Case containing an Advanced Radiation Suit.
  5. 5
East of the chasm, near two ruined cars, find an Armor Case with Combat Armor. A nearby First Aid Box contains random chems.
  6. 6
Exit the chasm at Crescent Canyon East, south-west of Nipton. In the desert to the north, you may encounter Golden Geckos, Giant Radscorpions, and Mole Rats.
  7. 7
Head north-east, cross train tracks, and find the Mojave Drive-in, south of Nipton. Aside from a Crashed Satellite (do not investigate unless starting Old World Blues), there are Mole Rats and Garbage Cans to loot.
  8. 8
South-east of the Mojave Drive-in is Bradley’s Shack. Kill the Jackal Gang Members outside. Inside, disarm a tripwire rigged to a shotgun. Loot two Sacks, a BB Gun, BBs, a First Aid Box [Very Easy], two Ammo Boxes, three Frag Grenades, and a Sunset Sarsaparilla Star Bottle Cap.
  9. 9
East and slightly north of Bradley’s Shack is Caesar’s Legion Safehouse (inaccessible yet, but worth discovering).
  10. 10
In the hills north of the safehouse are Bighorners. To the south-east is an observation booth overlooking a fenced-in shack. The area around the shack is heavily irradiated and populated by Glowing Ones and Feral Ghoul Reavers.
  11. 11
To deal with the Ghouls, sneak onto the ledge overlooking the flatlands to the south-east and snipe them. Alternatively, climb on the truck near the fence for safety. You can lure Ghouls to the end of the truck to fight them.
  12. 12
Protect yourself from radiation (around 7 RADS near the shack) by wearing the Advanced Radiation Suit and using Rad-X.
  13. 13
Inside the Nuclear Test Shack, find a Hunting Shotgun near tables to the south-east. On these tables is a copy of Nikola Tesla and You, under which is the book Entry Two in the Die-ary of Trash, providing a note. A Sunset Sarsaparilla Star Bottle Cap is on a table to the north-east.
  14. 14
Further north-east, on metal shelves, find chems and the book Entry One in the Die-ary of Trash. On the bed is Trash; loot her body for Leather Armor, Reinforced and the Entry Three in the Die-ary of Trash.
  15. 15
Leave the shack and the radiation. Fast-travel to the Powder Ganger Camp South.
Tips
  • Night Stalkers can poison you; keep moving and use ranged weapons.
  • Golden Geckos are stronger than normal Geckos; fight them at a distance.
  • The radiation in Crescent Canyon is manageable enough to run through; returning to Doc Mitchell might be cheaper than using Rad-X or RadAway.
  • The Advanced Radiation Suit found in Crescent Canyon will be useful for the Old Nuclear Test Site.
  • The truck at the Old Nuclear Test Site provides a safe vantage point to fight Ghouls.
  • Looting Bradley's Shack requires disarming a tripwire trap.
