Follow this Fallout: New Vegas walkthrough to complete the 'No, Not Much,' 'Climb Ev'ry Mountain,' and 'Bitter Springs Infirmary Blues' quests in the Bitter Springs and North-Eastern Mojave region.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
No, Not Much: Talk to Lieutenant Markland at Bitter Springs. He needs troops, medical supplies, and help with a sniper. This starts the quests 'No, Not Much,' 'Climb Ev'ry Mountain,' and 'Bitter Springs Infirmary Blues.'
  2. 2
    Gathering Troops:
    • Fast-travel to Camp Forlorn Hope and speak with Major Polotli to request troops for Captain Gilles (requires 'Liked' or 'Idolized' NCR reputation or completion of 'Restoring Hope').
  3. 3
Go to Camp Golf and talk to Sgt. McCredie to request troops (requires completion of 'Flag of Our Foul-Ups').
  4. 4
Visit Camp McCarran and ask Col. James Hsu for reinforcements for Bitter Springs (requires 'Liked' or 'Idolized' NCR reputation).
  5. 5
    Gathering Medical Supplies:
    • Visit Blake at the Crimson Caravan Company and purchase 'Stress and the Modern Refugee: A Primer' and 'Tiny, Tiny Babies: All You Need to Know about Pediatric Medicine' for 25 Caps each.
  6. 6
Alternatively, if Arcade Gannon is with you, he can teach Lieutenant Markland, negating the need for books.
  7. 7
Acquire three Doctor's Bags. Doctor Usanagi at the New Vegas Medical Clinic may sell some, or you can find them from other sources.
  8. 8
Bitter Springs Infirmary Blues: Return to Lieutenant Markland at Bitter Springs with the two books and three Doctor's Bags.
    • Reward Options:
      • Basic reward: 200 XP, NCR Fame.
  9. 9
    Requesting meds: 2 Stimpaks, 4 Rad-X, 2 RadAway.
  10. 10
    Requesting chems and cash: 2 Stimpaks, 4 Rad-X, 2 RadAway, 40 Caps.
  11. 11
Requesting even more after chems/cash: Additional 100 Caps (lose Karma).
  12. 12
Turning down further reward: Gain Karma.
  13. 13
Climb Ev'ry Mountain: Head north from the NCR camp.
    • Enter a Great Khan Supply Cave to the north-west. Clear out Giant Ants and find a Radioactive Supply Cache.
  14. 14
Exit and head north-west to another Great Khan Supply Cave. West into a large cavern, defeat Young Nightstalkers. Continue west down a tunnel, then north to find a locked gate [Easy] containing Frag Grenades, a Machete, smokes, alcohol, a Produce Sack, a Footlocker, an Explosives Crate, and a locked Ammo Box [Average]. Grab the Great Khan Supply Cache.
  15. 15
Backtrack to the NCR tents, turn west behind the medical tent, and ascend a steep hill. Head north, north-west up a ravine. Follow gray cliffs to the east, then ascend a rocky ramp to the third cave.
  16. 16
Sneak into the third cave. To the east is Oscar Velasco, the sniper. You can kill him openly for Infamy, sneak up on him for a melee attack, or use Ratslayer from a distance. If Boone is absent and you are not in NCR gear, you can speak with Oscar. A [Speech 50] check can allow you to convince him...
Tips
  • Ensure your NCR reputation is high ('Liked' or 'Idolized') before requesting troops from Major Polotli and Col. James Hsu.
  • Completing 'Restoring Hope' and 'Flag of Our Foul-Ups' are prerequisites for troop requests from Major Polotli and Sgt. McCredie, respectively.
  • If Arcade Gannon is a companion, he can fulfill Lieutenant Markland's need for medical knowledge, saving you the trouble of finding books.
  • Be prepared for combat with Giant Ants and Nightstalkers in the caves.
  • Oscar Velasco, the sniper, can be dealt with through combat or dialogue, depending on your approach and companion presence.
