Learn about fallout new vegas Level 14 Perks like Adamantium Skeleton, Center of Mass, Chemist, Jury Rigging, Light Step, and Purifier.
Adamantium Skeleton
Requirements: Level 14
This perk reduces limb damage taken by 50%. While generally considered less useful in normal mode, it can offer some benefit in Hardcore Mode, especially when combined with the Small Frame trait, though Healing Poultices are often a better alternative.
Center of Mass
Requirements: Level 14, Guns 70
In V.A.T.S. (the targeting system), attacks that target the torso gain an additional 15% damage. This is less effective than headshots, which are generally preferred if you are close enough for a successful V.A.T.S. shot.
Chemist
Requirements: Level 14, Medicine 60
This perk doubles the duration of chems. However, it does not affect restoratives like Super Stimpaks, Stimpaks, or RadAway in Hardcore Mode, as they already work over time. Its primary use is extending the duration of Rad-X. It can also be beneficial if you plan to use the Implant GRX perk, as it will double that effect's duration.
Jury Rigging
Requirements: Level 14, Repair 90
Allows you to repair any item using a roughly similar item (e.g., a Trail Carbine with a Hunting Rifle, or Power Armor with Metal Armor). This perk is highly convenient, especially in expansions where unique items and repair merchants may be scarce. It saves caps and hassle, making it comparable to the Them’s Good Eatin’ perk for Hardcore Mode players.
Light Step
Requirements: Level 14, Agility 6, Perception 6
You will never set off enemy mines or floor-based traps. While useful, mines are often obvious and can be disarmed for experience and loot, making this perk less essential if you are observant.
Purifier
Requirements: Level 14
Grants a +50% damage bonus with Melee and Unarmed weapons against specific enemies: Centaurs, Nightstalkers, Spore Plants, Spore Carriers, Deathclaws, Super Mutants, and Feral Ghouls. While a significant damage boost, many of these enemies are extremely dangerous, and ranged weapons are often a safer approach, especially against Deathclaws.
