Learn how to take down DeRosso and Victor in Bravely Default. This guide covers their weaknesses, HP, and strategies to overcome this challenging boss encounter.

Alright, so you've reached the Sub-Scenario: Vampire and Fool, and it's time to face off against DeRosso and Victor. Don't let the addition of Victor fool you; while he's not the main threat, DeRosso is still a serious challenge, so we need a solid plan.

Stats / Weaknesses:

  • DeRosso: Level 66, 99,999 HP, Weak to Light
  • Victor: Level 66, 80,000 HP, Weak to Dark

Strategy:

  • Honestly, Victor isn't too tough if you've got Abate Light on your characters and Lustrous Shield on your healer. He's more of a distraction than a real threat in this fight.
  • DeRosso is still the main danger, so make him your priority. He has less HP than when you fought him solo, so he should go down quicker.
  • When DeRosso uses his move Battle Thirst, have your fastest character use Rampart to block his follow-up attack, Energy Burst.
  • If you're feeling confident with your party's strength, you might be able to just Default and survive Energy Burst. If you're unsure, pairing Default with Default Guard or Absorb Physical Damage is a safe bet.
  • It's super important to keep your party's HP as high as possible throughout this entire fight. DeRosso has a nasty habit of using Graviga, which will instantly cut your HP down to 3/4 of its maximum.
  • He also has Bone Crush, which deals damage equal to your lost HP. That's why your healer needs the best Agility and Speed-boosting abilities and gear, like the Hermes Shoes you can find in his castle.
