Each of the 24 jobs has a max Job Level of 14. To level up a job, you'll need to earn Job Points, or JP, which you get at the end of every battle for everyone still standing. Keep in mind, your Job Level also affects how much damage your character dishes out, so it's a good idea to keep some characters in higher-level jobs to maintain your party's damage output.

With each new Job Level you hit, you'll unlock a brand-new ability specific to that job. These abilities fall into two main categories: Command Abilities and Support Abilities.

Command Abilities are the ones you'll use directly in combat – think powerful attacks or helpful buffs for your allies. The neat thing is, each character can use Command Abilities from their current 'main' job, plus abilities from one 'secondary' job you've assigned. This lets you really mix and match!
