Specialty: Black Resonance

Black Magic damage rises with each ally that has Black Resonance as a Specialty or equipped ability. This effect is not active with only one ally having Black Resonance. With two allies, damage is multiplied by 1.1. With three allies, damage is multiplied by 1.15. With all four allies having Black Resonance, damage is multiplied by 1.2. This specialty is restrictive in team composition, and having more than two Black Mages is not recommended, especially against enemies with high magic defense.

    Level 1: Black Magic Lv.1 Allows use of Fire, Blizzard, Thunder with the appropriate scrolls. These spells can be group-cast, but individual damage falls as more enemies are targeted.

    Level 2: Rod Lore Raises the arms aptitude for Rods to S, allowing the character to gain the highest Attack bonus for Rods in any job (does not affect Magic Attack).

    Level 3: Black Magic Lv.2 Allows use of Silence, Poison, and Sleep with the appropriate scrolls. These spells are good for weakening enemies, especially for silencing magic-casters, though bosses cannot be silenced and take reduced poison damage.
